Free Data Pipelines To iTwin IoT With IMSURGE

We are excited to share a new collaboration with Bentley Systems that removes the cost of delivering instrumentation data into the iTwin IoT Platform through an IMSURGE pipeline.

This is backed by an officially supported iTwin IoT integration, developed and maintained in coordination with Bentley to ensure ongoing compatibility, continued feature development, and priority support as both platforms evolve.

Extending iTwin IoT Capabilities with IMSURGE

to monitor, analyze, and manage sensor data across a variety of infrastructure assets.

Through advanced analytics and predictive intelligence, iTwin IoT moves users from

reactive to proactive workflows. Built on the powerful iTwin IoT platform, sensor data is

contextualized across the broader Bentley ecosystem for infrastructure design,

planning, and operations.

In real world deployments, instrumentation data is produced by a wide range of sensors, loggers, vendor platforms, and legacy systems. While iTwin IoT offers many native integrations already, some data sources still fall outside of those supported paths.

IMSURGE extends the library of integrations available to iTwin IoT by acting as a standardized ingress layer. It collects data from supported instruments and platforms and delivers it into iTwin IoT so it can be aggregated and analyzed alongside existing project data.

IMSURGE expands the library of supported data sources that can deliver data to iTwin IoT.

This allows teams to bring more of their instrumentation data into iTwin IoT, expanding its role as a single source of truth, without changing how they work inside the platform or maintaining custom ingestion tooling.

Using Sponsored iTwin IoT Pipelines

For existing IMSURGE customers

If you already use IMSURGE and have pipelines that deliver data into iTwin IoT, those pipelines are now classified as sponsored.

Under Settings → Usage, you will see a clear distinction between Sponsored and Billable pipelines. This makes it easy to understand which pipelines are covered by the iTwin IoT sponsorship and which are billed under standard usage.

This classification is applied automatically. No changes are required to your existing pipelines. The sponsorship is effective as of December 1st and will be reflected accordingly in your December usage and invoice.

For Free tier customers

Sponsored pipelines are not subject to the usual Free tier limits on IMSURGE.

Teams can create and run pipelines that deliver data into iTwin IoT without IMSURGE execution caps or scheduling restrictions. No credit card is required, and there is no obligation to upgrade.

If your goal is to get data into iTwin IoT without incurring additional costs, you can do so entirely by making use of our Free tier.
